In the first quarter of 2021, sandbox games have shown varying degrees of user engagement on the iOS platform in Brazil. Sensor Tower provides a comprehensive look into the performance of these games.

Roblox by Roblox Corporation led the charge with a significant user base, maintaining around 345K to 422K weekly active users. The game also saw consistent downloads, starting at approximately 26K in the last week of December and peaking at around 25K by the end of March. Revenue trends for Roblox showed a healthy growth, kicking off the quarter with around $75K in the first week of January and reaching nearly $94K by the end of March.

Minecraft, developed by Mojang, also maintained a steady active user count, ranging from about 36K to 57K weekly active users throughout the quarter. The game's downloads remained relatively stable, hovering around the 600 mark each week, while the revenue experienced slight fluctuations, starting at $17K and reaching a peak of over $20K in the second week of March before settling at around $17K.

The Sims™ FreePlay by Electronic Arts displayed a significant increase in downloads, jumping from 7K to over 11K by the end of March. The weekly active users showed a positive trend as well, growing from 26K to over 35K in the same period.

Lockwood Publishing's Avakin Life: 3D Avatar Creator witnessed a slight decline in downloads, starting off at nearly 4K and decreasing to around 3.8K by the end of March. Active users saw an initial drop from 24K to 19K but gradually increased to over 25K towards the end of the quarter. Revenue for Avakin Life peaked at nearly $6K in the third week of March, with other weeks averaging around $3K.

Lastly, IMVU: 3D Avatar Creator & Chat by IMVU showed a mixed trend in downloads, starting at over 2K, dipping in February, and then reaching over 2.8K in late March. The active user base remained strong, with weekly active users ranging from 39K to 42K. Revenue saw a significant spike in the third week of March at over $5K but otherwise maintained an average of around $2K to $3K per week.
